BOSCHI DI STEFANO
PODCAST
A new way to discover and visit Casa Museo Boschi Di Stefano, a walk with special guests who gave voice and “sound” to the rooms and works and brought to life an original journey through eras and stories. An authorial podcast, written and narrated by Valerio Millefoglie, produced thanks to the contribution of Fondazione Cariplo and in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan.
All guests were asked to recount a specific room, a favourite work of art, an episode, or to read the words of Antonio Boschi – an enlightened collector who donated his extraordinary collection of 20th-century Italian art, gathered over a lifetime with his wife Marieda Di Stefano, to the City of Milan – and of Alessandro Mendini, grandson of the Boschi couple and one of the leading Italian designers of the 20th century.
You will be guided through Casa Museo by the voices of Elisa and Fulvia Mendini, heirs of the Boschi Di Stefano family and daughters of Alessandro; Davide Dall’Ombra, professor of History of Art Criticism at the Università Cattolica in Milan and member of the Foundation’s Board of directors; Chiara Battezzati, Casa Museo curator; Cristiana Vannini, the architect who has overseen the restoration of the building since 1998 and the renovation works to open the museum; Jacopo Ghilardotti, expert on Piero Portaluppi, the great architect who designed the building where Casa Museo is located; Maria Villa, deputy director of the Lucio Fontana Foundation, the artist that occupies with over 20 of his works the sitting room; Elena Pontiggia, professor of Art History at Brera Academy and expert on Mario Sironi, to whom an entire room of the museum is dedicated; Ornella Mignone, curator of the Valentino Vago Archive; Giuliano Collina, the sole living artist in the collection; and Antonio Marano, the historic keeper of the building, which saw the birth of Casa Museo Boschi Di Stefano.
The music, composed live during the recording sessions, is by Angelo Trabace, who performed on the Bechstein piano located in the main hall.
The podcast was recorded by Piero Tacconi.
